Levi got bitten a little by the big Pittbul Vote for this post

at Natasha's house..

They played for a while but the day that we left some food was involved and he attacked Levi.  It happened so fast and several times it was trouble. It is a older Pittbul 8 years old and he acts like he never seen a toy before. We do not know his history this Pittbul Buddy my daughter calls him is a very large Dog . Very sweet he loved to play and be petted. Wags his tail all the time but they got into it several times.

Yesterday we noticed Levi had crusted blood on his neck and after I cleaned it and put some antibiotic cream on it we saw that it was a made by a tooth.  I was not scared of him but of course protective of Levi.

Thank G-D that it was not a big bite just one puncture. Natasha was sorry to hear it when I told her.

Because of the Hurricane and all the wind and rain we was nearly all day inside day and night.

When we get back from TX we go pick up Winter in Ocala. Looking forward to it.

I will have to make a appointment to get her fixed. does that take long? I know nothing about female Dogs. Guess I better read up on it.

Love, Levi, Angel Moshe and Yoka

xxxxx

Oh Yoka, that is so scary...I know there are gentle pitbulls, but you're lucky that Levi escaped with just a minor bite. Dogs who have food aggression can't be trusted with other animals when there's food left out. Prayers coming that it heals up without infection.

Oh no, that's awful of that pitbull.
I really don't trust pitbulls no matter what anyone says.
You are giving Winter a wonderful home and I know she
will adopt to you and Levi quickly.
I think having a female dog fixed takes about two days.
The vet does the surgery one day and keeps the dog
overnight for observation.

Sounds like it was just one of those things, I always keep my girls separated at food time, not because I think they will go at each other but it's just the way we've always done it even when we were kids and had dogs. Kelsi and Hannah from time to time (no food involved) drew blood but it was never a big deal. When they have treats they go to the separate areas to eat, I don't block them off from each other they just do it.

At our vet we drop them off by 9am and usually pick up around 4pm onwards. Our vet does the more complicated surgeries first and then works down the list.

We are so pleased Levi is safe Yoka, and the bite was small but Pitbulls can lock on with their jaws and you do not want another incident with him going for Levi again also it would have upset Levi and you do not want him being unsettled with other dogs when you are going to get a sister for him,it was just a thought...Hugs Annie and Gang xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Izzy wasn't allowed to go for a walk, play with Maddie or jump for about 10 days I think it was, it was a long 10 days, had to keep them separated and she hated that.

if you were smart you would keep your LWD away from pitbulls it only takes a second and they are gone, ask about Chester.

Yoka, glad to hear you all did OK with the storm.  Sorry to hear that Levi was bitten....I never trust any of my small dogs with larger dogs, no matter the breed.  It only takes a quick second for a disaster to happen.

As far as females, we have only had female dogs.  Usually the spaying requires an overnight stay; you may want to check with your vet to make sure someone is there at night to check on them, though.

Good luck with Winter!  Please remember to introduce Levi to Winter on neutral territory, and not in your house or yard.

Re: Update Vote for this post Reply to this Message Reply with a quote

Levi is doing fine the small bite was hard to find he sure heals fast.

Natasha does not know the History of that Pittbul. He is also 8 years old . I already told her I will not keep him for her. For some reason she likes them .Evie who she found was half boxer and Pittbul but this one is much bigger and is a full blooded Pittbul by the looks of it.

Just called the computer man to come . I can't get PDF files to print nothing comes up but a box to tell me that it is not working.

Computers are wonderful if they work good but it is sometimes a nightmare when you have trouble.

have a great weekend everyone. We have a Pitza party in the Sukkah Sunday.

Love from all of us,

Levi,Angel Moshe, Richard and Yoka

I am so happy to hear Levi is healing.  I agree with you I would not let that pit bull in my house and near Levi either.  Sounds like that pit bull does not have the personality that sweet Evie had.  Louise, Caesar and Angel Murphy

Probably best to keep them apart. While I don't mind the breed they do have massive jaw power and it could have been so much worse. Levi won't need other company when Winter arrives.
