Vet update on Winter Vote for this post

Winter had a check up and a 3 year rabies shot. Winter has terrible allergies and I was wondering why she was biting herself. She is now on Zyrtec. I see a improvement already. Will give her a bath with the special shampoo I have for Levi I know that will help too.
The vet saw that on her large canine tooth a piece was broken off.He told us that tooth might give her pain and it needs to be removed. I was in Shock hearing this. Had a hard time sleeping. Called my vet this morning and told them she can be fixed on December 3 but do not touch that tooth.
I want a second opinion from a vet Dentist. If you remember Moshe needed 5 front teeth removed in his mouth and she also removed 4 cyst. Moshe did so wel so if it needs to come out I will go back to Dr. Hoffman. She was so caring.
I think if Winter was hurting she would not eat or drink cold water. After she is fixed I will make a appointment with the vet Dentist. She can do a exray of that tooth.
Today we are buying Winter a coat, pajama and lease.
Do you agree that waiting is better?
Love,Yoka,Levi,Winter and Moshe at the RB.
Xxxxxooooo

I agree about waiting on the tooth.  The allergies could be food related.  I know you feed Levi a good food so maybe when she has had that in her system for a while she will not be as itchy.

It's always best to tackle one problem at at time and getting her allergies under control sounds like the best place to start. Glad you're seeing an improvement already with the meds.

I agree one thing at a time.  Glad the Zyrtec is helping and a good diet is a must.  I also agree with the second opinion about Winter's teeth.  Vet Dentist's are the experts when it comes to teeth issues.  Love Louise, Caesar and Angel Murphy

So glad the allergies is starting to come around. I agree with the tooth. Always to get a second opinion.

I agree with getting a second opinion, but keep an eye on her eating and if it becomes an issue take her in, nothing worse than a bad tooth. That said I took Hannah once in to have her stitches under her eye (rotten dog bit her) and as it was late I used the vet over the road, they said to me it will only cost another $75 to have her teeth cleaned and kept trying to push me to do it. I said no and when we went back to our regular vet he said they didn't need cleaning at all, she only had it done once in 14 years.

Bad news about the allergies hope it's not an ongoing issue. Izabella is already on Apoquel and she is only 1, Kent said she is off to a bad start. Hopefully Maddie doesn't need it too.

With the Malesap Shampoo that will stay on 5 minutes. It kills the bacteria and I hope that will improve also. I be staying there till she is finished so she will not be alone. Hope next time she can go with Levi together.
Hope it will help with her allergies.
Winter wrapped her Papa around her paw.lol.

She's going to the groomers? Maybe she can trim her up a little for you at the same time. My sister was going to do that with Tilly as she came with a bad haircut but she really didn't have any hair to work with.

I've used Malaseb on Izzy and Maddie's paws. I even bathed Izzy in it a few weeks ago when she was itchy, the bottle says 10 minutes but I say good luck getting a Westie to stand there for 10 minutes with it on their coat.
