We were in the path of winter storm Stella and ended up with 33 inches of snow. The lower half of our living room windows -- covered! Can't open the front door. Can hardly see the mailbox down by the road. Also, we have had a lot of blowing and drifting, which has made it even worse. It's only 15 degrees outside.
Two local farms had barn collapses last night (one with 100 cows inside) and a church in a nearby town burned to the ground.
So, yeah, it's bad out there and at least we are safe and warm inside, but I did have to call to reschedule a doctor's appointment for today. I have been waiting several weeks to see a gastroenterologist, but that will have to wait. And Roo is supposed to have his annual physical tomorrow, but I will probably postpone that, too.
I am SO SICK OF WINTER! I totally get why folks become snowbirds -- so now that I am stuck at home, I might check out and see what is available down south (for next year) and how much it costs. At this point, I'd pay just about anything to get away but -- oh yeah -- all flights cancelled. Egads.

Hi Cheryl, we're in, looking out too. Stella dumped 20 inches of snow here and we have high winds. All the businesses and schools shut down yesterday and a few are open today but I don't know how anyone will get there with all the drifting snow! The only vehicles we've been seeing are snowmobiles! Hopefully, we'll get plowed out sometime today but Emmie is NOT a happy camper since she can't sniff and snuffle around outside. With temps in the teens and windchill below 0*, we're taking her out to do her business, then it's straight in to get warmed up. Spring can't come soon enough for me! Stay safe up there and give Roo a kiss from us!

We were in all day yesterday and had the wood burner going. Had to do our little driveway 3 times throughout the storm. Riley is too little to go out in this weather and had fun getting into trouble.
We had about 14 inches of snow and it was cold and windy.
Hope everyone stayed warm and safe.

Cheryl I know what you are talking about. I grew up in your area of up state New York. Here in Grayslake IL. we had very little snow this year compared to what we usually have. The 10 inches we got is nothing compared to your 33 inches. I am ready to get out off here. The weather still is crazy here. One extreme to another. Not very helpful when you have a lot of joint issues. Take care and be careful. Louise, Caesar and Angel Murphy

Oy vey that sound like a nightmare. Feel so bad for those cows. I hate cold weather when I was in Kindergarten the teacher told my mom I needed to move to a warm country. I was always cold and still am that way often. Having no thyroid I still have moments that I am like ice and my specialist tells me my mens are perfect. It is sunny here but very cool but it will warm up. I can't wait for spring and hate cold days. Levi wore a coat and Winter too today early but am glad we had no frost.
I only have 2 tops I can wear my cast on the hand and arm is so large it can't get through my sleeves.
Sure hope it comes off on the 27th???.
So glad we live here. Two days ago Richard was still wearing Bermuda 's. He is never cold.
Cheryl move to Florida the sun is out most every day!
Hang in there all of you in cold snow land. Spring is nearly here. Stay warm.!
