Tillie Vote for this post

Dropped by to say Hi and to update on Tillie.
We thought it might help if we took her for a walk in the park, she seemed to like the walk, till we had to pass other walkers with their FurKids.
Tillie, became a bit aggressive, ( jumping, barking, and growling a little ) We now keep her on a short leash, walking between us after that.
We are leaving for Nags Head the last of this month and there are always dogs walking the beach, 99 % are on leashes but there is always someone that thinks the leash law does not apply to them. Hope they are not on the beach when we walk Tillie but if so will at least call their dog back.

Its lovely to hear from you Eve and have been thinking of you and Ed and Tillie and I guess she is a bit more protective  of you now she is  on her own and  still grieving  for Phoenix,we hope you have a nice time at Nags Head and that the loose dogs are not a problem,How it annoys me when people have dogs with no leads on and are unable to keep them under command, there is a super lady here where we live and her and her husband have spaniels and labs  and walk 4 of them but they are so well behaved...you can walk past them with barky dogs and all her 4 will sit calmly at her side...nice to see and trained well,Hugs and kisses to you all  and you are in our hearts. Glad to hear Tillie is starting to come around.

Maybe get one of those mini air horns to scare an unleashed dog away.

Love Riley

We've been wondering how you're doing Eve and if Tillie is still grieving. Glad to hear that you're getting out a bit and hope that her protective nature calms down over time. She probably thinks it's all up to her to be "Top Dog" and protect her family. Hope you have a nice time at Nags Head and have good weather.

Hi Eve, thanks for posting your update.  I am wondering if Tillie is eating and drinking okay now.

Re: the aggressiveness...  There is a way of letting other people know that your dog needs space. You tie a yellow ribbon half way up their leash where people can see it to take caution with your dog.

Perhaps talking to an obedience trainer for tips on how to deal with this situation would be of help.  Or giving her a little spritz from a spray bottle when she shows aggression toward another dog??? I actually think this would work.

I hope you, Ed and Tillie have a lovely time at Nag's Head, with no loose dogs gallivanting about.  Would love to see a couple pictures when you are back.

love and hugs, Theo and Willie xoxox

good news!       ive had 4 westies and a scottie over the years.   one was very nasty, bigger the dog the better.  i used to shout to owners with dogs off leads, letting them know i had a nasty dog.    the ribbon is a good idea.
