I scared Mom Vote for this post

Roo gave me a scare yesterday. We had to be gone for several hours, helping our son at his new house. We came home and I put him out to do his thing. He did and then immediately collapsed on the ground with his eyes half closed and I'm trying to rouse him but he's not responding. I start running my hands all over him and I discover he has a Burdock stuck to one ear and a couple on his front leg and two on his rear leg.
So. Roo has this thing about burdocks. He either freaks out so badly or just goes catatonic. I had forgotten about that second reaction because it's been so long since he got into them. Yesterday, he lay perfectly still while I removed them (he usually tries to take my hand off). Then he got up and totterred back in the house and he seems fine now. I am just waiting for my pulse to return to normal.
UPDATE: I am not totally sure if his collapse was due to the burdocks. I know his joints are very achy and it seems to take a lot longer for him to wake up and start moving smoothly. Could it have been some type of seizure? He didn't get all jittery or thrash around but for a while I thought I was losing him. I don't really know what a seizure would look like.  Do they ever just go very still for a while?

It really doesn't sound like a seizure to me. I guess if I had something jabbing me, I'd just go still, so hopefully, it was the burdocks-nasty things that they are! Keeping Roo in my prayers and will look for an update later on. Oh, and take a deep breathe Cheryl!

Hello Cheryl,That was scary for you...Eric used to have seizures due to his brain tumour  when he was in his middle late teens and afterwards sometimes his eyes were glassed over and he would circle or just lie there quiet for some time....Ellie had the one sizure bless her and  after was also dazed and quiet sort of trance like...I hope it was the burdocks that upset Roo and maybe its more worrying for him as he is older now...Lots of Prayers he starts to get back to his normal self..it takes longer as we all know as we age..if it happens again without Burdocks can you get a vet to look at him.....Big Hugs and thinking of you  and Give Roo a  Big Kiss from us all..Love Annie and Gang xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
