Levi,Winter and Yoka
Found this: please read. Yoka,Levi and Winter
The Environmental Working Group, known as the EWG which empowers people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment, gave Dawn dish soap a 'D' grade because it has methylisothiazolinone in it.
which is a huge concern regarding aquatic toxicity; as well as some concern regarding skin irritations, allergie, and skin damage.
Sounds great for dogs, right?
Dawn also contains 1 4-dioxane which has become a problem as a groundwater contaminant.
Another fact about Dawn soap - it is on the Mayo Clinic avoid list of household chemicals due to it containing many contaminates, including quanterium 15 which produces formaldehyde when contacts water.
Quanternium-15 is a preservative and a caustic chemical anti-microbial and a severe cause of dermatitis.
It is also a teratrogen (causes birth defects in animals)
According to some experts, This ingredient is generally safe, BUT will break down in the bottle, or tube, or on the skin to release formaldehyde for which the evidence of its cancer causing properties is very real.
Of course it kills fleas! Maybe killing skin cells too.
Other Ingredients in Dawn dish soap :dawnsoapforfleas.png
water sodium lauryl sulfate sodium laurethsulfate c12-14-16 dimethyl amine oxide SD alcohol sodium chloride PPG-26, pei-14 PEG-10/PPG-7 copolymer cyclohexanediamine phenoxyethanol magnesium chloride methylisothiazolinone Synthetic ragrance yellow 5 blue 1 There are much safer choices for shampoos to kill fleas on dogs. Don’t you agree?
Here is one: Dr. Bronners peppermint soap cut half in half with vinegar would be just as effective. (You can get Dr. Bron

Re: Levi,Winter and Yoka
Wow! Always seeing commercials where they're using Dawn to "save wildlife"--washing off oil, etc. That was the only reason I bought it and now, I'll find a way to dispose of it (safely). Thanks for sharing Yoka!Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Levi,Winter and Yoka
I was shocked too Deb. Not that I ever used it on any of our dogs and as soon as the Dawn is gone I will never buy it again. It is great for wild life like Ducks etc. Am having a real frustrating day. Tried to get into ITunes so I could make a few CD's for my friend but can't even get in/ I wrote the pass word on paper. They asked for my birthday so I wrote that but after I put in the month and the day I am unable to put in the year. Tried it till I am seeing double so closed it. Wonder why everything goes wrong on some days. Do you havbe nice weather in PA? We have had so much rain it is unbelievable. Take care Deb and give Emmie a lig kiss from Levi and Winter. They are doing well. Love, Yoka, Levi and Winter.

Re: Levi,Winter and Yoka
Thank You Yoka!!!
When I bred Welsh Terriers an old breeding and boarding kennel in the town where I worked used Palmolive Green dish soap.
I used it for years and did not get any fleas or tics. I use whitening shampoo since I had the Westies it is oatmeal based.
Love Riley and Allen

Re: Levi,Winter and Yoka
I have never used anything but natural shampoo's made for dogs on my kids. I am horrified to learn how unhealthy Dawn dish soap is. I wash my dishes with it. Guess I will be looking for something else!!! Louise, Caesar, Judah and Angel Murphy
