Oh yes....I so remember the same feeling upon finding another Cairn in our area.  A few years ago at our local County Fair, I was driving over to Layla's usual walking spot which is a large field but of course this weekend it was being used as the parking lot and had caravans parked.  We spied this little guy with his parents and Layla got so excited....unfortunately he wasn't a friendly doggie so we kept our distance.  When asking her where she had gotten her dog from, lands up it was from the same breeder we had gotten Layla from.  Not the same parents as he was 4 years older than Layla.  In the eight years plus we have yet to see another Cairn.  Course we live in a rather rural area and most people around us have much larger dogs that are more like guard dogs.  Hopefully you will have the opportunity to see this same car again and this time it will be more fruitful.

We do not see a lot of Cairns here at all. It seems that most have very large or very petite tiny dogs.

This coming Friday Levi has his check up for his ear again We sure hope it will be good news.
Levi has been very clinging lately but is a good trooper when I take care of his ear. Will be so happy to hear good news.
 Have a great day everyone.

Ooh how exciting! Cairns are fairly rare to begin with but not as rare as they used to be. When we had Mischief people thought she was a Westie, a Yorkie, a puppy or just asked. "Like Toto in the Wizard of Oz!" usually got some recognition. I see them more often but not too often. I haven't seen ANY in my new neighborhood or many small dogs at all. I met a nice friendly girly girl Westie in the neighborhood I lived in last year but only once.

I did see a Cairn or at least ears and tail on the Amazon movie Wonderstruck (based on the young adult graphic hybrid novel by Brian Selznick). It was a blink and you miss it scene. The credits said animal trainer Bill Berloni and I know he has and loves Cairns!
