The Things I Do! Vote for this post

Yesterday, we went to our local Tractor Supply store. It's a pet friendly place and I noticed an elderly lady with a shaggy little white dog. I just knew there had to be a Westie under there somewhere so I shamelessly followed her around the store till she stopped to look at something. Well, I couldn't help myself, I started talking to the dog and when I kneeled down, she started giving me kisses! The lady looked at me funny but when I told her my hubby and I have had 3 Westies, she opened up. She had always had labs and a few months ago she lost her 12 year old Lab. Her daughter told me that her mother had gone through chemo and that she was lonely and needed a companion, but a smaller dog. Her friend told her about a six year old Westie whose owner had recently died. She fell in love with the dog and brought her home to her mother. The poor thing has never been groomed, can you imagine! Well, she took to the lady's mother and she decided to keep her. She knows nothing about Westies and didn't know what they were suppose to look like so I showed her a picture of Emmie. She started crying and said "Oh my, I can't believe how beautiful she is! I've made an appointment for her to get groomed next week and I can't wait to see what she looks like!" I told her there is lots of good information on Westies on line and gave her my number in case she has any questions. Well, she was so grateful, she gave me a big hug and promised to keep in touch. I hope she does!
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie
