I know that some of you have or had older dogs.  Robin is 15 and is peeing excessively on the kitchen floor, yesterday it was about 6 times, today it has been about 8 times.

I don't know what to do other than clean up the floor.  I get very frustrated with her, but I know that it isn't her fault, she goes outside, but still comes in and pees.

any suggestions.

thanks

Is she on any medication? Kelsi was on stilboestrol in later years, Izabella (she is 3 1/2) has been on it for more than a year.

Would putting down a tray (we call in a pet toilet here) with some fake turf on the top help? Do you think if she had somewhere to go like that she would go in the one spot? I've use it with my girls in the past.

Ellie would wee sometimes on the floors but then she did not sometimes just for fun I think when she was younger as never house trained before we got her,I never minded and Nimby only a couple of times as she got older and more poorly,I think there is something I remember a friend of mine got for her labradors from the vets to help them doing this a lot but might be worth asking,or would Robin have an infection there I wonder, newspapers we used to put down at least absorbed the wet  and then easier to mop up....Let us know how Robin ids doing when you can and hope others here can give advice....Hugs and kisses Annie Andrew and NimbySue with her wings xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My Bichon Bullett is at least 14 + years and he went from 100% reliable to occasional accidents to unable to hold it at all sometimes over the past couple years.  Vet said with arthritis it hurts too much to hike (squat for a girl) so they either don't go outside or don't empty out.  I watched and saw Bullett positioning to go but walking off after trying to hike. I put him on arthritis meds and the accidents ended until now.  He will go outside and 15 mins later will need to go again and if I'm not quick enough he has an accident. If he gets over excited or barking he cannot hold it.  He is in diapers now. they work really well.  They have a gel in them that helps keep the wetness away from their bodies like baby diapers do.

If Robin is peeing large amounts each time you might have her checked for diabetes or UA infection.  That's how I found out Elliot had it. He started drinking large amounts of water and then just soaked the door mat. I hope it's just an age issue with Robin.

Forever Elliot's Kay

I had a Cockerpoo that was incontinent and I found pants that she could wear and I put poise pads inside. I had several pairs so if she soaked through I could change her.
