Changing Times
Socializing is so important for a young pup. We did our best to get Grady out to meet and greet people and other dogs last year.Took him to puppy classes, on outings to stores and some local events. That stopped once we all had to do social distancing in the pandemic Lock Down.We take Grady for daily walks in our neighborhood. If he sees people he whimpers and grumbles pulling on his leash directing us to go closer which we can't.He just loves meeting people and the attention of others and sadly we have to hold him back at this time. When he sees the kids playing or walking down the street he cries out wagging his tail with a chorus of rooing and whimpers. I know it's for our own good to keep our distancing but hope it's not for much longer. A picture from last summer with Grady's happy encounter. How has the pandemic changed your routine?

Re: Changing Times
Sandra,Grady looks so good with Children,Biba is not too good with them But we have none here and she does not really come into contact with them....I think she finds them wild!!LOL...I know what you mean with the lockdown rules,we have been lucky here with lots of areas to walk and grounds but I know the dogs have missed going out every weekend on trips to different places,we managed to go about 4 miles the last 2 weekends for new walks local and yesterday a new lane walk and just into the booktown albeit most places closed still...we are still on lockdown here as we are on border of Wales England...we hope maybe in a few weeks we can start to go on our wee trips but not far away from home and where no crowds for sure...I continue to wear a mask and gloves if I have to go to any local shop but distance is only 4 miles...Andrew and Biba both love going out in the car for walks and it will be nice to get them back up to the mountain moorland area also.Big Hugs Annie Biba and Drew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Changing Times
We only go for short walks we live a cross from a grade since it is it is very quiet. Presley doesn't really like kids so it is easier to walk him.

Re: Changing Times
Luckily, we live in the country and have 2 acres to roam. We are still wearing masks when we must go to the store and practicing social distancing since our numbers are still going up in our county. Neighbors walk on the road in front of our house and Emmie would love to greet them and get petted, but we try to take her out when we know nobody will be walking. We can just imagine the fuss that poor Grady makes when he'd rather be playing with the kids...Poor pups, they don't understand what's going on.... We're so tired of this virus and if people around here would just behave--wear masks and social distancing, things would be in better shape than they are. Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Changing Times
Deb I could echo the same. we too wear the gloves and masks still. We shop early mornings so to avoid crowds to get our groceries.Walking through the store so many people not wearing masks or keeping distance. Upsets me to see others not doing state orders. Your so right, if people would just comply a little longer.Oh yes Grady loves children just like Willie did. He gets so excited wanting to run over and to be talked to petted on. He looks so disappointed when I have to hold back on the leash.

Re: Changing Times
When I walk Riley around our little neighborhood he always meets and greets our regular neighbors. I too play with our little puppers.
Although I HATE retractable leads you could use one to stay a safe distance away while they greet Grady.
We all need to stay safe but our furry friends need that connection.
Love Riley and Allen
