Prayers Please!
Please, please send prayers for Emmie. She's at the vet's right now and we won't know what's going on till we hear from them. (Dang COVID, we weren't allowed to go in the building with her...) This morning Gary took her out to go potty and when they came back in, her whole butt was covered with blood! We're worried sick and are praying it's something that can be fixed and she can come home later today. I'll update as soon as we know something.Love, Deb

UPDATE
Emmie is back home, we just picked her up at the vet's office. She has an impacted anal gland that became infected. She's on pain meds and antibiotics for the infection. The vet told us that this could be a one time thing or she could be prone to this type of thing. She asked about how our groomer cleans her glands (I never knew there was more than one way of doing it!) but she told us that if the groomer is cleaning them externally, she's doing more harm than good. The glands need to be expressed internally to do any good. After all these years, we are learning something new! The vet told us that when she cleaned the other gland, it was also impacted and would have caused trouble later on. This is very painful for Emmie and she doesn't want us to look at her back end so we'll wait a couple of days and try to clean her up (per orders from the vet). Thank you to all who sent prayers, bless you.Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Prayers Please!
Deb! I am so sorry to have just read this...just switched computer on as late at work...I can only imagine how worried you must have been and so upsetting...Poor Wee Emmie...and lots and lots of healing prayers for her..no wonder she just will hate going to the vets now and I thought Biba was feeling bad enough after her spay and being afraid of them,...I know from some people in the past years that I have never taken any of my puppers in over 35 yrs to a groomer ..I guess I just want to do them myself and know what goes on...No wonder their coats are not top class trimmed but I can do them over a few days and not upset any delicate areas....some of mine had their glands impacted and I just took them to the vets and they expressed them nice and cleanly....will look in tomorrow and so so pleased you have Emmie back home with you...That must have been so scary seeing that this morning come from her....Thinking of you ...Hugs and kisses Annie Biba and Drew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Prayers Please!
Aww poor Miss Emmie! I knew right away what was wrong! The same thing happened to Mischief when she was a puppy- a million years ago. She had to wear the cone of shame during the day but at night my parents put her in their room so they could keep an eye on her. Guess where she slept from that day forward? LOL! So much for having her own room (mud room)! I hope Miss Emmie heals quickly.

Re: Prayers Please!
We are glad she is home and on the road to recovery.
Thank God it was not anything that cannot be cured.
Hope she gets better every day.
