We were wundering if any uvver Cairn here bears grudges...I wonder if my Master Gwaady dus!...see cos Mummy made me walk slowly wiv Bro yesterday...and only for 15 minutes... and then telled me off for eating a dead birdie in the woods...I seds it wos only a wee bit of feather though!!...well I still wos cross wiv mummy last night....Mummy says I have a real defiant look and scowl on my face when I cross..and if I cannot get my own way...Drewboy is never told off really...only if he dus a naughty widdie in the hoose out of sheer naughtiness..cos he can always get into the garden to do one...Mummy seems to think that Westies are not as wild and defiant as me,much gentler she says Bibbie!...anyway I went for a nice long walkie wiv daddy this morning oot in the motor car and then to get cakes from the booktown...Mummy is doing indoor things and cleaning wiv Drewboy...its all foggy and she says it will not clear now all day...what is everybods wevver doing....Hugs and kissies Snuggie on sofa now and Drew in his heggie bed. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Do any other Cairns bear grudges...or Westies?
Hello bestest! We being slug-a-beds dis mornin but Mommy gots ta go take a piccie fer da newspaper later on an Daddy says we is goin ta start decoratin fer Santa Paws cause we need a bit a cheer he says. We gots nice weader taday an tomorrow but den winter comin wif snow flurries, wind, an colder temps. Mommy says her not ready fer dat yet but nofin her can do about it! I hopes you an my Drew Boy are habin a good day an no more widdies an tantrums from da two a you!Lub you bof lots an lots, bestest friend Emmie Sue (Drew's Girl) XXXXXXXXXXX
Deb here, and I was intrigued by your question about grudges Annie. Emmie is the most mellow Westie we have ever had. She never holds a grudge, even when she's been corrected for something she did (mostly chasing the cats and once in a while, getting all wooly about a fast car that went past us when we were walking.) Now, Kelsie was another matter all together. She would hold a grudge for days if she didn't get her own way and she was a master at turning her back and ignoring us if she thought she'd been slighted. Bless her heart, we think some of it was pain that we didn't know about until she was really sick and it still bothers me that we didn't figure that out sooner. Love to you all, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie.

Re: Do any other Cairns bear grudges...or Westies?
My buster was a very mellow little guy, Robin on the other hand was very shy and would give you a look.
Presley is the most sensitive of all and he does hold grudges, if I raise my voice to him or at any other time (Husker football), he will go under the bed and stay there most of the day. he will come out to eat, but gives me looks at all times. it usually lasts a few hours, and then is back to his out self.
interesting question

While I've not had a Cairn so far I can't comment. But none of my Westie girls have ever been mellow. If I correct them they give me the cold shoulder.

Re: Do any other Cairns bear grudges...or Westies?
Just like a cairn to have selective hearing and be on their own mission. Yep Grady being a young cairn is BOSSY, stubborn and mischievous .I see little wheels turning in those eyes all time. Extremely smart and always alert and engaged for play. Grady has short lived grudges. I have noticed with Grady he's fixated to get his way more than I ever seen with my westies. He tests the limits when he gets a NO. My westie Maddie had a prey drive and was focused a lot on hunting like your Biba but after age 5 Maddie settled down a bit. She was also not as stubborn in training as Grady or Willie our cairns. Maddie did hold grudges and give me attitude. Pouting and ignoring me when she got her feelings hurt from being verbally corrected. Having a nice sunny cold day here. Got our walk out and Grady got to meet some ladies. He gave them both a wet kiss and lots of happy whimpers.
Hugs Sandra & Master Grady xox

Re: Do any other Cairns bear grudges...or Westies?
Rookie never seems to hold a grudge. He is very mellow except when he hears or sees the Amish in their buggies. They live down the road and around the corner. He can hear them the second the horses' hooves hit the pavement. He hates them and does not like it when we tell him to calm down, but gets over it once they're gone and he's back to being happy Roo.
