Not Westie related
While not Westie related I have to share something here.
My brother passed away on May 22nd. That day my sister's dog, a Min Pin who had never met our brother, was there. On his final day, he was at home and on hospice, Ella was pawing on his bed wanting up. She was lifted up and went to my brother and curled up right beside him. He passes, Ella licked his face and then wanted off the bed.
How anyone can be mean to animals is beyond me, they truly exude nothing but love, they are so intuitive.

Re: Not Westie related
Oh David, first let me say how sorry I am to hear of your brother's passing. There has been so much loss in the past year and every soul that passed is missed by family and friends. Second, I have to say I've heard of dogs who could sense impending death and have given comfort to the dying. It just seems to be something they feel inside them, even if that person is a complete stranger. I once read where a therapy dog in a hospital would make its way to the room of a dying person and stay with them till they passed. It's as if they know that nobody wants to die alone. I totally agree with you. Animals are worth their weight in gold and should be treated with the utmost love and respect. I don't know how anyone could go through this life without the unconditional love of a dog (or any animal for that matter!) Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Not Westie related
So very sorry to hear of your brothers passing.
I agree animals seem to know when someone has passed one.
Presley seemed to know when Robin died. I brought her ashes home and let him smell them he seemed to know it was her. When I put them in the cremation box, I put it on the floor, he went over to it. sniffed it, sat down, put he paws on top of the box. as if to say see is gone. I was just amazed at that. Dogs do have a way of knowing. I feel so sorry for people and don't understand can be so cruel to animals, They can teach so so much, if we just let them.

Sorry to hear of your brothers passing.
Animals I have always believed have an ability beyond our understanding for things like this.
God bless your brother and may he keep him close.

Re: Not Westie related
David ,firstly we are so sorry your brother has passed away and send hugs over to him and we are sure he will be watching over you and send a sign ...Dogs I well know have this greater knowledge and insight that we are not sometimes clever enough to understand...which says almost how much more intelligent they are than us LOL!...I for one truly Ellie saw my father one Christmas morning a year after he had passed away on a Christmas morning and at the same time...also there is no place anywhere in the world for animal abusers...Much Love Annie Biba and Andrew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
