Not wanting to be left out
Matilda has been having some tummy issues of late the vet sent us to a specialist thinking she might have thryoid cancer but he thinks the 2 blood test results were unconvincing and given she had an enlarged pancreas it is more likely to be a tummy issue. She's look like quite the sleek Miss here they shaved her from the ultrasound and with it her skirt so had her tidied up. Haven't seen them this short haired since they were pups but will be so nice for Summer and much needed after they were denied haircuts since April due to covid restrictions.

Re: Not wanting to be left out
Diana I am sad to see your post on Matilda not feeling well. What a scare with possible cancer. Good the tests are not coming back positive and hope that her stomach issue is resolved and she will be doing better soon! Disappointing when they have to shave down the shirt and coat. In short time it will grow back. She looks to be enjoying a special treat. Will keep Maddie in my thoughts thast she will recover soon.

Re: Not wanting to be left out
Thanks it was a very sad week leading up to the specialist appointment as the vet had really put the fear of god in me saying there was only a small chance of it not being a tumour also said her lymph nodes were up. The specialist said her lymph nodes weren't swollen, he couldn't feel any lumps or bumps he did say that there was an 80% chance they would find nothing and didn't recommend we just into a $3000 CT scan at this stage. I agreed and she has been on a diet of chicken and rice and a roo tendon which of course can't go on forever but she does seem to be improving. She is on Neurontin as we feel there is an element of anxiety so will see how that goes. Of course I'd rather not give her any medication but we had to try something as we had too many episodes in the 6 weeks+ leading up to the ultrasound. I video taped them to show the vet it was sad to see.

Re: Not wanting to be left out
Thanks it's a Westies head, I bought 3-4 pieces of the rubber backed vet bed and have had a lot of people admire it but they've sold out. I am just glad I got it when I did.
