My bonded pair Vote for this post

Had to separate my girls yesterday to attend a Dermatology appointment with Matilda it was far too hot to take Izabella with us in the car. Due to protocols in place even I could not enter the clinic with Matilda I had to sit inside my warm car. Matilda was far less brave without Izzy there and poor Izzy was banging on the door when we left. Quite sad to separate them, they really do love one another.

Ah, it's great that they are so close and rely on each other for support. I know Emmie is more anxious when we leave the house since we're home so much more since COVID. Hope the appointment went well. It seems so strange for you to talk about the heat when we're heading for the "deepfreeze" this weekend with a Nor'Easter coming up the coast that could dump 10+ inches of snow on us!
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Thanks for sharing this lovely picture of your two gorgeous girls!! POW for sure. This picture gave me flash backs to Maddie and Emily. They too were so bonded like that missing each other.  I'm sure there was a sniff session when Matilda  walked in the house by Miss Izzy. Sorry to hear you had to be in a hot car waiting. We had the same arrangements here in our town. Couldn't go in but had to wait outside. Not good when it was 102 in the summer. Hope your appointment for Matilda went well.

Hugs Sandra & Master Gradyxox

Yes it is great to have 2 that adore one another after Kelsi and Hannah's love/hate relationship. We are only a month and a half into summer the hot weather could last until the end of March but am hoping not I can't take the humidity. Matilda had the Heska blood test yesterday came home with quite a bit of medication. She was given a Cytopoint injection, Fluconazole (Saturday and Sunday's only) she had finished a course around 10 days ago, ear drops (right ear is bad) but left ear also needs doing. Lanolin based cream containing antibiotics for her vulva area. Matilda is pretty resistant to oral antibiotics given her tummy issues, the injectable kind don't work as well. The dermatology intern agreed we would forgo the food trial as Matilda has tummy issues (she had an ultrasound late September her pancreas was enlarged) so changing her food from chicken, rice and green veggies, carrot and pumpkin (not both on the same night) was not a good idea. She has been on Neurontin for anxiety since September which has really helped with her full on freak outs which we think were both food and anxiety related. We forgo the intradermal skin testing at this time due to the need for her to be fully sedated (no twilight sedation for her). Get her blood test results back in 2 weeks then go back for another visit 4 weeks later. I wasn't keen to go thru the dermatologic testing again I did it with Kelsi, Hannah & Izabella. Izabella I got no results back on either test so they said it either meant what she is allergic to is not on the test or the lack of results on the skin test could have been caused by stress and or the medication she had been on prior. I was very annoyed as I had asked about the medication being an issue and was told no. Izzy fortunately does well on Cytopoint I do have to keep them both out of the grass and away from bushes and shrubs at home and out and about and bathe their paws after every walk which is why we don't go daily especially this time of year when it is so hot when I get home from work. I love my girls but they will be my last Westies, 4 skin allergy Westies is my limit.
