A Trip to the Vet
Emmie ended up at the vet's office yesterday. She had an infected anal gland that started to bleed. No symptoms...no scooting, no licking...She stood up and looked at her butt like "What's going on?" and when I looked, there was blood. I called the vet and off we went. They shaved her butt, cleaned her up, packed the anal gland with antibiotic gel and sent her home with antibiotics and pain pills. She's been moping around all day but if my butt was that sore, I wouldn't want to be moving around either! She goes back in 2 weeks for a follow up. The vet says it could be caused by allergies. Anyone heard of that before? I'm just glad we were able to get into our vet and get her some relief. Poor little girl...Love, Deb and Emmie Sue

Awwww....poor sweetie sure hope that Emmie heals quickly and that infection is cured by the medication treatment very soon. Deb good you took her to the vet and got the antibiotics and something for her pain.I never had that happen with Maddie and she had allergies, sorry I don't have helpful information. Deb, we are kind of in the same boat. We feel it so deeply when our babes are not well. Hope she bounces back quickly.
