Bee Sting

on the last potty trip outside last night, Rainey apparantly picked up an apple. and it had a yellowjacket in it that stung her throat. altho I didnt fugure it out until the wee hours. I sat up all night with her in my lap. I gave her Pet Calm and then some allergy medication. that seemed to help her settle down and sleep. I was SO worried. she just kept swallowing continuously. and was agitated. I emailed my Breeder. she emailed early this am with same possible diagnosis...bee sting! another dose of allergy medicine this morning. she is fine. was out running with the pack and ate another apple. geesh! no wonder my hair is turning gray..er! I guess with all our fruit trees, its bound to happen. Glad I had allergy meds on hand.

it was a scary night for my baby & me.

What a thing to happen to poor little Rainy!! Hope she feels better very soon.

What allergy med did you use with her? I have some here in the house, but wondered what you used.

MaryAnn,
I use the Walmart brand Childrens Elixer allergy medicine. it has Benadryl ingredients but less expensive. I buy it for Rudy and Rose grass allergys.

also Pet Calm is good for them to relax, as they are afraid about whats happening to them. I buy that from Foster/Smith pet catalog. I think its better than Rescue Remedy.

Poor little Rainey, Those Yellow Jackets are the worst, trouble is they can sting and sting. Fall must be exciting around your house with all the fruit trees, they seem to turn meaner as the weather cools. Kisses to Rainey.

Fran, I know you were frantic. These little ones can scare the heck out of us. So glad Rainey is better today. Hugs from the Alabama Gang.
