Licking... yuumm

I'm not very worried about this, but think it's kinda weird. Just after eating (twice a day) Xana starts licking the air for at least half an hour (sometimes a hole hour).
I don't know why she's doing this but don't think it's something normal in dogs. She started about four months ago. Any of your furkids do this licking thing?? Any idea of what is it about??
Thanks!!!!

Check her teeth. Maybe she has a bad tooth that is bothering her when she eats. Other than that, have no idea.

Valle, the one and only time Rio did this she had a lump of bone right buried at the back of her tongue.....I couldn't see it and nor could the vet but he knocked her out and found it !!
I'd take her in and get it found !!

Yes, Murphy does this licking thing when he has something stuck between his teeth. Usually the strings from his rope bone.

Mine lick the air when their tummy is upset for some reason. They usually stop after a bit or usually after they throw up.
Luckily it doesn't happen often. Maybe her dog food upsets her tummy a bit.

Indigestion, nausea is usually the culprit. Dutchess is the queen, that and burping! Big piggy very unlady like hehehe. Change her diet~ no grains and limited ingredients and see how she does.

I'd get the vet to check there's nothing stuck before you change her food, though...

My dear Xana,

I don't think it's weird, and I still love you, but maybe your mom should have the vet check you out! Better safe than sorry.

Your beau,

My vet told me when a dog does this it's because the tummy is upset, sort of like when we get heartburn.

Every time Mandie has done this she threw up shortly afterwards. She does it when nervous or stomach is upset.
