Flea RX
I need to get some more flea RX. I have been using Advantage and have been happy with it but I was wondering if I should change to Frontline. Your opinions would be appreciated. Val

Re: Flea RX
I'm no help as I don't use anything, I'm afraid....with their coats so short I just need to use a fleacomb and watch them closely. XXX.

Re: Flea RX
We use Frontline Plus and it works well for us. We have never tried the Advantage, so we can't compare. Sorry we are not much help. Hope you get some good responses.

Re: Flea RX
Try reading up on flea prevention and treatment. I got some DE just for those occasions. Seems to work fine for us. Hugs, nancy :)

Wonderful article, Nancy
Thanks for this article, Nancy. It is a very good read for everyone...especially ones like me who don't always get the "whole picture" element of holistic medicine.

Re: Flea RX
It is Diatomaceous Earth... It is a powder form that you rub into the hyde to prevent fleas. Works fine here. Hugs, Nancy :)

Re: Flea RX
I alternate using both Advantix and Frontline on Brands. Doing that seems to work best for her as I've never found a single flea or tick since I switched from just using Frontline.

Re: Flea RX
Sorry I have always used Frontline products, so I have nothing to compare to either.

Re: Flea RX
I have used both Frontline Plus and Advantage and have liked both. I switched to Bio Spot because that is also for mosquitoes. I have only used it for one month but like it so far. It is much cheaper than frontline and its for fleas ticks and mosquitoes.

Re: Flea RX
I have used both. The main complaint I have against Advantage is it doesn't last if you bathe the dog or if it should get wet. Frontline Plus lasts longer. I use both. Advantage when the weather is cooler so they can go four weeks between baths, and Frontline Plus when a more reliable treatment is needed. We have a real flea problem during hot weather and I frequently treat them every three weeks instead of four. Once again I want to remind you that Advantix is very toxic to kitties. If you have a cat please don't use Advantix. xxxxBetty and the Girlies...

Re: Flea RX
I use Frontline Plus because it does not wash off if your furkids get wet! The other products are water-soluable and will wash off. I need to bathe MacKenzie and Tobey between grooming trips due to skin problems, so the Frontline Plus continues to work until time for the next application.

Re: Flea RX
For those of you who order flea protection over the internet, please beware. There are counterfeit products out there. Here's a link to the EPA website: http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/factsheets/petproduct.htm#3
