grooming question
This might sound a little strange but here goes. For those of you who groom their own Westies, how do you clip the hair in the very back? I know how to clean up in the anal area, but below that and blending into the legs stumps me? Is it to look like it's a continuation of their skirt or is it supposed to be short -- or what?? All of the diagrams I reference show a side view which doesn't help here. If your nicely groomed Westie doesn't mind too much, could you perhaps post a photo of a nicely groomed rear area and/or a description of how to do it? Thanks.

Pleased you're feeling better.
The Minkies are shorn all over so their bums blend in nicely with their bellies and legs..I think they tend to shave around the bum but the outer edges are long like the legs...I'm trying to picture one as we speak that I've seen with the long cut !!!

I looked thru all of Elliot's pictures and don't have ONE with a full butt shot! 
He has a little cowlick right below his pooper and that's where the skirt is left long. From the back it looks like pantalooms. It's short til the tail base & hip then blended to the skirt at the cowlick. His groomer thins it but sometimes doesn't get it thin enough and he looks like a girl so I'll trim it back a little.

I've had the same question, and think we need to see some photos. Yup, our fur kids are going to be certain that the humans have gone crazy when we start running around BEHIND THEM with our digital cameras!
