Re: mosquito's
We have a friend who lives in a very wooded area of East Texas. They bought one of those mosquito magnet machines. They aren't cheap, and apparently are a bit temperamental, but our friends love theirs. On a much smaller scale, we use those new "off" lanterns on our patio, they have a little insert and tealite thing. The insert heats up and gives off fumes. I really like them because the lantern is covered, so no open flame and they don't make me sneeze like citronella. The downside is they only cover a 15ft x 15ft area and the little burners only last for 4 hours. However, they do seem really effective.

Hope you find a solution, Joe-we're no help, I'm afraid, as we don't have them here, thankfully. XXX.

Re: mosquito's
I use Yard Guard but for the girls I found a ring I used on the girls leash. It kept the bugs away from them. If you look at the end of the Stormies leash you will see it. It is a Citronella ring but it didn't touch the girls.

Re: mosquito's
Tommy bought this propane insect fogger at the Home Depot store. It puts out a fog just like the machines do. Just don't let the kiddos out for a while after you use it.

Re: mosquito's
For areas with standing water around the house like trays under pots, wading pools, etc, if you add a bit of liquid soap it prevents the adults from laying their eggs.
It doesn't take much. It works by breaking the surface tension of the water and the mosquito can't land on it to lay. The population has diminished enormously here since I started doing this.
