Help Tiny Tim Walk Again For Christmas!

Hi Everyone!

Cairn Rescue USA just took in
Tiny Tim, an adorable young Cairn weighing about 11 lbs who ended up in a Los Angeles area shelter after being seriously injured by a car. Tiny Tim is also a very brave Cairn boy. He sat in the shelter for 5 days with all his fractures because the shelter could not release him prior to 12/10, when CRUSA took him into its program. He is now at the California Animal Hospital getting the care he so desperately needs.

Tiny Tim's current condition is bad (keep reading), but the vet seeing him is confident that everything is fixable and can be taken care of in two surgeries.

To start with, Tiny Tim's pelvis is broken in 3 places (2 right fractures and 1 left). There was also something brewing in his abdomen, near the groin on his right side. The vet does not believe that this is anything serious like his bladder, or he would have been pretty sick by now. His abdomen is also very red and swollen from a diaphragmatic hernia-- this means that his diaphragm was torn, and parts of his liver and loops of intestine moved next to his heart. This was also making it hard for him to get a full breath, but it is fixable with surgery.

The first of Tiny Tim's two surgeries took place today, a day after we got him, and in it, the vet got to repair the diaphragm and the damage done to his abdomen and groin area, so he can go back to breathing normally. The second surgery will be done next Tuesday by an orthopedic vet and will repair his pelvis. The cost of the two surgeries is estimated at $2,800 to $3200. This is with a 30% rescue discount, as it normally would be $4,000 to $4500.

Despite all his injuries, Tiny Tim has a sweet disposition and shows no aggression when handled and carried. He will sit on your lap and is content to be gently stroked and will offer his injured belly seeking belly rubs in typical Cairn fashion.

Please consider making a donation and becoming a Healing Angel for Tiny Tim. Your generosity will enable us to give him the greatest Christmas gift this year, his life. Tiny Tim didn't make it this far for nothing. He is alive for a reason and needs everyone's help to get better, be able to walk again and live a healthy, happy life for many years to come!

Many thanks in advance!

I wish I was in the position to help him. Poor little guy to go that long without treatment it's criminal... He must have been in tremendous pain. Hope the little guy gets through the surgery okay.
