Please Help Dodger
Many of you may recall our little rescue named Dodger, who came from a puppy mill with a lame paw. He was the ambassador at the FurFair. Always wiggling in happiness, though he had only three little legs that worked properly.
Well, it turns out that Dodger has cancer and has lost his leg to the beast. Still, he rebounds with his tail wagging and kisses galore. However....
To insure that the cancer was successfully destroyed, Dodger is now going through radiation therapy. He is unable to be home due to the hospital's location to his forever home and will be there until the end of the month. The treatment will give Dodger at least 5 more years of freedom from that mill, if not more.
Dodger's mom has been super with all of this, however the bill for his treatment will be so enormous. Dodger's life has turned from bad to WONDERFUL due to his new home and rescue brother, Chance. However, his mom (a single woman) faces a daunting vet bill. Now mind you, never ONCE has she EVER asked for assistance. We are simply hoping that through the generousity of our rescue friends, that many of you could help in assisting Dodger and his family.
ANY DONATION, regardless of size is completely tax deductable and will live on in this little boy's zest for life. Please if you could, help Dodger and his family.
Donations can be made on our site via Paypal or can be mailed in at:
Luann Johnson - Westie Rescue of Missouri, Inc. 13990 SE Holmes Road Gower, Missouri 64454
Please note that your donation is for Dodger's health treatment. We have applied through Westie Med and have received some assistance.
Again, Dodger's mom is unaware that we are working so hard in helping her curb that medical bill - we want it to be a surprise. The bill could be as high as $4,000!! Dodger's mom said she has simply asked all her family and friends in lieu of gifts this holiday season that they donate toward Dodger's freedom. Dodger's mom told me upon adopting Dodger, they are such a pair - his bum leg and her bum arm... she so loves her boy. Please help in anyway you can.
If you are unable to help at this time monetarily, please remember, your good thoughts and prayers are of great value as well.
Thank you my dear friends at the Terrier Club. We hope to see Dodger running free and healthy soon! I've attached a photo of Dodger running through the grass shortly after his freedom from the mill. Regardless of the lame leg, you can see in his little face that he was going to enjoy life. Lets give him that chance again.
Take care! Angie
