FW: Puppymilll industry map and info

Someone just forwarded this to me. As they say, illuminating!

Here is a site with a map of the Midwest 'puppy belt' that gives you a good
idea of the number of people in the commercial dog breeding business.
http://www.awawatchdog.com/puppybelt/index.htm

if you click on the state like Missouri you can see green dots in the
counties that commercial breeders live in - some counties are totally green.
I think the site is under construction still but it is illuminating to say
the least!

the main site is dedicated to mill fighting and can be found here many of
the links don't work yet but the Dec link does

I just saw the puppy mill map, and yes it was more than illuminating. It was depressing and scary. I live in Maryland and I couldn't believe the number in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. My mom has a 4 year old male Westie (who is a complete angel), who was found with two female Westies about two years ago running loose in Lancaster, PA. Though we will never know his real story, I think I have a good idea now. Can you imagine three Westies running loose together?? It would be nice if we could boycott Pennsylvania until they put a stop to the puppy mills.
