Windy City (fur)kids have arrived...
More Col. Potter kids:
Our second group of furkids arrived yesterday - seven in total this time. I didn't make the long trip this time. Instead Mary and her sister, Carol went to pick-up these kids. My thanks to them for all their help!
#3179 - Astor: M, 6 years old, red - named for John Jacob Astor who was a fur trader for the American Fur Company in the late 1700's and early 1800's and helped finance early building in the city of Chicago.
#3180 - Archer: M, 1 year old, red - named for Col. William Archer who was a strong backer of the canal project in Chicago during the 1830's.
#3181 - Ogden: M, 1 year old, red, brother of Archer - named for William B. Ogden who was the first mayor of Chicago.
#3182 - Kendall: F, 6 years old, red - named for Lt. Oliver J. Kendall, founder of Kendall County, just outside Chicago.
#3183 - Kedzie: F, 6-7 years old, brindle - named for John Hume Kedzie, a real estate, landowner, pioneer and Chicago attorney.
#3184 - Raven: F, 8 years old, brindle - named for a street in Chicago thus named because of thirds of this type in the area.
#3185 - Balbo: M, 8 years old, brindle - named for Italo Balbo, an Italian aviator who on July 15, 1933, led 24 seaplanes that landed off Navy Pier for the World's Fair.
These seven are NOT included in the 40 PM Kids Challenge, but just adds to the incredible challenge that CP has undertaken in the month of September! Once again, we could not do it without the help and support from our wonderful foster homes and the donations being made to help make this possible. THANK YOU EVERYONE
