Col Potter 9/8/03 Dog Status
I was thinking about how Col Potter is perceived here.. how people tell us about dogs and dont hear back sometimes.. well, here's a copy of our weekly dog status on our list.. We have about 34 dogs in care right now. Dogs not on the website will be new arrivals, ones that are being vetted, and some still being transported to their foster home.
We have a new person doing the status document, I'm hoping it will be have a bit more info soon. If you want to see pics, go to our site..

Corinne, who is 'Teddy Bear' from Washington? I looked at the site and he's not listed there. Any more info on him? Laurie is looking and she's from Washington. Is it a steadfast rule not to adopt ANY Cairn to a family that has children?

try refreshing your browser screen.. He is on the site..
he is around 14 yrs old Male..
we do .. very seldom.. adopt to families with younger dogs..
the biggest reason we dont is that for most of these dogs we have NO history, or a suspect one. and we dont want to take that chance with YOUR kids or OUR dogs (they will always have a part of our hearts even when they become yours).
We have had some obviously loved dogs come in.. some because families could not afford the treatment for a problem. Those would be the exceptions.. but even in those cases it would not be to a 'first cairn' home.. we would want to be sure the family knew all about the devious little boogers.

AND the update came through too soon to include MY NEW FOSTER DOG (happily Toby has gone to a WONDERFUL home in Maine!!)- it is SUCH a thrill becoming a foster home for Col. Potter. I had been doing lots of other stuff for the rescue group but fostering is new and SO rewarding.
Cody is an owner surrender (housebreaking issues) He should be up on the website really soon. He is just a doll but Myra is still trying to figure out if she likes him or not. He sure likes her. They started doing the "dance around the chair" today!! I think He's in LOVE...

I'm in love with Shea and McDuffy and I'm heartbroken to read poor little Theo's story...how terribly sad he had such a miserable, sad, life...thankyou for showing him we're not ALL bad, even though it was too late for him...

Totally off topic but when I posted about Cody, Myra's picture didn't show up!! I clicked on the "remember me?" box and we have been members for AGES ... hmmm do you think it's because my email changed recently? Yup, I'll bet that's what it is - I'll have to fix that.
