Gentle Ben Biopsy results

Can be said in one word
FANTASTIC

Ben has about 20 or so lumps, most of them on his rear legs. My vet felt that most of them were a 'skin' problem, but we needed to check to be sure. Ben had three lumps removed - one was a mole and was not biopsied. It was removed because it caused difficulties in grooming his face - he would not let a comb near that side of his face.

He had one lump on his tummy that was large and seemed very deep. This lump was removed and biopsied. It is considered an 'infiltrative limpoma'... basically a fatty tumor that had infiltrated his chest muscle. It is not cancerous BUT may come back in the future

He had a large open lump on his right leg. This lump was removed and biopsied. It is considered a Fibroma. Fibromas are benign tumors that can grow to be large. It is likely this is what the large majority of his leg bumps are. A good prognosis was done on this lump, but it should be expected that he will have other lumps that may need removed in the future. They do not need removed unless they interfere with his lifestyle. (I personally beleive this lump hit the other leg and Ben did his own personal surgery... He did remove two of the stitches on this lump - he was quite used to biting it. We will be putting Bitter Apple on the outer edges of skin to stop his chewing.)

so... I"m suggesting he become adoptable.. isnt that great news!!!

I'm thrilled to read this. He so deserves a new life, dear little fella'. When Sparky had a similar lump on her back leg I had it removed as it grew a bit and hers was a benign tumour of the hair follicle.....perhaps some of his are similar.
