Please Help - Potential Adopter
I have a friend in the area who is very active in all breed rescue. She knows a couple that very much want to rescue a puppy - preferably a small terrier, westie/cairn/scottie/etc or corgi or shitzu, etc. They have no real preference but told her that it is important to them to get a puppy. They do not have small children and have adopted from shelters in the past. I have not spoken to them and did not want to do so in fear that they would think I represented a rescue group.
Anyway, I have their home number if someone from westie rescue or cairn rescue would like to contact them. I told my friend that there are usually way more adult rescues than puppies and she has passed that along. If you need their name and number, please email me privately. Thanks for your help.

Re: Please Help - Potential Adopter
I think in most cases the rescue organisations want potential new owners to already have an application in before being considered.... XXX.

Re: Please Help - Potential Adopter
Yes, the way to get started is for them to fill out an application. That's the starting point for my rescue and most rescues I know of.
Also true that it's unusual for puppies to end up in rescue, altho not unheard of.
Do you know where they're located? I have a reason for asking :).

Re: Please Help - Potential Adopter
Tell them to get an application in to COl. Potter, especially - they frequently get pregnant mommies, so there are puppies sometimes. Of course, there are usually a lot of apps for pups, but that might be the best chance.

Re: Please Help - Potential Adopter
I think Ratbone Rat Terrier Rescue has a rattie/westie maybe shih tzu mixed litter (mother dog isn't saying who dad is), in Arkansas. Of course, the applicants have to apply. www.ratbonerescues.com Darlene and Jolly, FL
