About Max A Million Vote for this post

First I hope all are doing good, I didn't think I would mind staying home, TILL, I have too.
But this note is about Max. We have had him to the pet hospital, the vet has ran test, so far all we know he has a enlarged liver with lumps on it. Good news is the tests showed no symptoms of cancer, and no shunts.
He was put on pain meds for three weeks, meds for infection, special diet,(  he hates. )
The liver sample came back yesterday and again no cancer. Thank Goodness,( I think this was the vets fear.)

So I'm asking if anyone has or had a dog with liver problems. I took Max to the vet because he acted like he didn't want to eat, he was very snappy.
I wanted to find out just why he was so snappy, it told me something was wrong.
If you have any idea please let me know.
Hugs to all.

Oh Eve, I know someone here will be able to help you. With everything that's going on, you were lucky to get Max in to a vet! Thank heavens the vet has ruled out cancer and praying the routine/meds the vet put him on will do the trick and get your boy back to himself! Keeping all of you in my prayers and will look for updates.
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Thank you, Max has his days of acting like a spoiled little boy, then like today he just wants to sleep.
I'm looking for something to add, (vet approved) to the ID to get him to eat it. When he feels good he,  EATS.
Hug the Furkids for me.

Eve,its lovely to hear from you and we are so pleased Max does not have cancer, maybe he was just a bit snappy because he knew he was  not quite right in his body and feeling  under the weather,Dear Nimby had an enlarged Liver but her problem was different..she did get a bit aggressive  an odd time  when picked up but I put this down to pain Bless her and also a wee bit of dementia setting in.we hope Max is eating fine again now and Much Love and hugs for you ,Max and Ed....Kisses and positive Prayers  for Max and let us know when you can how he is doing.

Eve glad to hear there was no cancer.  I have a question, did they check the liver sample for copper toxicity?  Also High levels of zinc (goes with copper issues), and lead toxicity?  The liver metabolizes  metals.  It it has issues doing that it causes the liver to fight for its life and causes inflammatory liver disease, and can kill your dog.  My first Scottie Spencer had that issue as well as my Caesar.  My Caesar is on the Hill's ld liver diet which he hates also.  I have to disguise it to get him to eat it.  Consider also giving Max SAMe and Milk Thistle supplements.  You can get them on line and at many pet stores.  These supplements protect the liver, assist in liver regeneration, and maintains healthy liver function.  They do help a lot.  There is also a supplement called Denamarin, which is prescription, that contains both the SAMe and Milk Thistle.  I highly recommends giving Max one of these supplements. Hope this helps.  Keep us posted.  I lost my second Scottie Murphy to liver cancer and both my first Scottie Spencer & Caesar had liver disease.  Spencer lived to be 16 1/2 with it and Caesar is 14yrs. young.  My Judah is on these supplements also.  His liver enzymes are a little elevated (its a Scottie thing). I am watching him closely.  Hope this helps. Any questions let me know.  Louise, Caesar, Judah, and Angel Murphy

Louise, Caesar, Judah, and Angel Murph,
Sorry so long is getting back, but someone tried to hack my credit card, boy what a mess.
I had a problem with an order, I had called the number that looked like it was from the company I was dealing with     ,( (somehow my call got switched to this guy and not anyone that worked for my credit card company.))     Ed and I almost at once  knew something was wrong when he said I can't return such a small amount but  let me give you two $500. gift cards because we can help you this way.
I can't return small amounts but I know you could use some extra money. This guy would not stop talking, I could not get a word in, but Ed said keep him talking while he got hold of our credit card company.
I had to yell to get this guy to stop long enough to say no I don't want your credit cards. I know this was his way of getting hold of my bank account numbers and he would have the recording of me giving him the numbers.

Any way I have copied your information and will fax it to my vet so he can make sure he checks for these problems.
Thanks again.

Oh my heavens, Eve!!!!!!!  I hope they catch that guy, put him in jail, and loss the key!  Hope you can get all this mess strengthened out.  My credit card was compromised a few months ago.  Fortunately my bank caught it before it was used and sent me a new credit card.  It is so scary these days with all the scammers out there.  Let me know what your vet says and how Max A Million is doing!  Louise, Caesar, Judah & Angel Murphy
