Updates..
Hello everyone....I know it's been a long time since I've posted...about two years as that is how long ago I visited England. Layla is now 10 1/2 and doing quite well considering she had surgery last Nov. for dental cleaning and a lipoma operation in late March of this year. Unfortunately I lost my husband Mar. 21st and for awhile both Layla and myself were bereft. We had a memorial service this past Saturday and planted a large dogwood tree over his ashes. Now, we have decided to sell our home as we have no family here in Maine. I am moving to Pennsylvania to live with my daughter and her husband and their "cat." We will be looking for a larger home to live in and hopefully have a separate area for her and I. Layla has never lived outside of this home so not sure how she will relate to the move, new family members and this "cat." I have been peeking in occasionally and keeping track of everyone but since returning from England pretty much all my time was spend taking care of hubby with his illnesses and just living life. Thank you for allowing me to share what has been happening.

Re: Updates..
Oh Sandy it is so good to hear from you and Layla! I am very sorry to hear you lost your husband. Glad to hear Layla is doing well after her surgery. Moving is so hard I went through it with my dying husband back in 2017 when we moved from Illinois to Florida. Hang in there you will be with your daughter and family. Things will work out. Keep us posted, we are glad to hear from you. Love Louise, Judah, and Angels Caesar & Murphy

Re: Updates..
Thank you Louise for your kind words...I didn't know your husband passed away and I'm so sorry. I guess you and I are travelling the same road. I'm not looking forward to the actual move however, I am looking forward with excitement to spending time with my daughter as we have a lot of similar interests. I also see that Caesar and Murphy have gone to rainbow bridge. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

Re: Updates..
Thank you Sandi....I sure hope Layla will adapt and quickly. The loss of her Dad was not an easy time for her as she still looks for him when his friends come over. I suspect she thinks her Dad is coming in right behind them.

Re: Updates..
It's so good to hear from you Sandy! My, it doesn't seem possible that little Layla is 10 1/2 years old! In my mind, she's still a puppy....My heart goes out to you in the loss of your husband. This has been such a hard time for so many...We hope the move to PA to be with your daughter is a positive experience and that Layla will adjust to a new home....and living with a cat! Emmie was brought up with a house full of cats so she has no problem with them but it will be something brand new for Layla! Please, keep in touch, post and let us know how things are going. We will keep both you and Layla in our prayers.Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Updates..
Hi Deb...thanks for your thoughtful response on our loss. It was doubly difficult as he actually passed away in the car as I was driving him to the hospital. Some things you see will never leave your mind. Nonetheless, I am determined to look forward and having been here alone for the last seven weeks it's not something I enjoy. My daughter would like me closer than a 9 hour drive. The fact that I just had my 75th birthday makes me realize it's probably best to do this now while I still have my health as you don't know what tomorrow will bring. I suspect the next few months will be a tad hectic but will keep you all in my journey.

Re: Updates..
Thank you Annie for your condolences. Today would have been hubby's 82 birthday so I wished him happy birthday wishes this morning. I am convinced he is giving me his blessings on selling the house and moving closer to my daughter. Today the photographer is coming by to take pictures of the house so I have been running around making things "pretty." I visited the Cotswold's when I was there...such beautiful little villages. My favorite views were in Cambria near Beatrice Potter's home. Would love to go back and take some time to see southwest. Had high tea at Betty's in York which was a delight.
Take care Sandy & little Layla

Re: Updates..
Riley & Allen....thank you for your thoughts. Having to move forward is, in some small way, my accepting the changes in my life. Everything is going so quickly I hardly have time to reflect...which might be a good thing.
Take care.....Sandy & little Layla
