A Scary Situation! Vote for this post

Late last night, Emmie had to go potty an her Daddy took her out. When they were coming back in, she stepped on one of those Europian Hornets that are so bad this year. If you're lucky enough not to have them, they are huge...almost 2 inches long and their sting is 10 times more potent than a regular hornet. At first, we thought she'd torn her ACL, she wouldn't put her leg down and she cried out in pain! We investigated and found the hornet laying on the porch where she started crying out. It was late and no vets in our area. We were so scared, she was panting and wanted to hide. We finally got some ice water into her and found some of the pain meds she'd taken when she had her anal troubles. She finally settled down in her crate and slept all night, ate her breakfast this morning and isn't even limping. Thank God she didn't have a worse reaction! We'll give her another day of pain meds and hope we have no more troubles with those miserable bees. (Talk about being scared to death....we don't want to experience something like this again!
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Oh how terrifying!!!!!!  Glad she is okay.  We have all kinds of horrible bugs down here in Florida but I haven't heard of that hornet.  Thank heavens it was not a more severe reaction!!!!!  Louise, Judah, and Angels Caesar & Murphy

That would scare me to no end.

They had an article on that bug and is sounded bad.

Hope she is feeling better and does not step on another one ever.

Love Riley and Allen

Deb that would have been so scary...I have just had to dispatch an ordinary hornet tonight that came in...Ooh I hate those things let alone one of the sort you had...I remember a long time ago Ellie got stung by a wasp and went into shakes etc and panting,we gave her water and sat with her as we were out in the wilds...she was alright after luckily like Emmie and hope she is doing OK still today...Much Love and kisses Annie smoochies from Emmies Drew and Best Friend Bibsy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
