Update on Judah Vote for this post

Judah had his surgery Thursday January 27.  He is doing well and recovering at home.  Unfortunately we had a few surprises on Thursday.  The plan was to do a liver biopsy and the surgeon Dr. Lee was going to look at the growth on his right paw which has returned and was removed  by my former Vet (the one I fired).  If he was tolerating anesthesia she would remove the growth on his paw after she finished the biopsy.  Well I noticed that Judah was having trouble walking and that the growth was much large so I called Dr. Lee and told her Judah was having problems walking now. When we got to the hospital Dr. Lee looked at the growth she noticed it had grown between digits 3 & 4.  She checked the right prescapular lymph node and it was swollen!!!!!  She aspirated a sample from the node to send to the pathologist.  After my former Vet removed the growth she called and told me the path report said the growth was a benign cutaneous plasma cell tumor, common in dogs, and curative if the tumor is totally removed.  What she did not tell me was the tumor was not totally removed and if it returns  can become aggressive, metastasize, and become multiple myeloma!!!!!!!  The pathologist at the hosptital confirmed that the lymph node cells were plasma cells!!!!  Dr. Lee removed the lymph node, growth on foot and did the liver biopsy.  Now we are waiting for all the path specimens repots to come back. I am just sick!!!!!!  Louise

Oh Louise, we are so very sorry to hear this! The vet who first operated on Judah's paw should lose his license to practice--first, for letting you think that the whole growth had been removed and secondly for not telling you what could happen if it came back! We are so glad that you have found a compassionate and skilled vet who cares for her patients. We are keeping you and Judah in our thoughts and prayers and know that everyone here at TC is doing the same. Please give him a big kiss from Emmie and me and let us know how he's doing when you can.
Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

I took Judah to a Veterinary Specialty Center.  My new primary Vet had to refer Judah to the specialists there.  They have a full service 24 hr. a day Vet hospital/emergency room plus specialists.  Dr. Lee is a DVM plus a DACV in surgery.  He also is under the care of a Veterinary Internist and Oncologist.  When Judah had that vomiting issues I took him to their emergency room.  His vomiting is under control now and his liver enzymes have started coming down.  I was not expecting this issue with his paw and lymph node.  I agree my old primary vets should find another profession!!!!!!!  They were the idiots who refused to treat my precious Caesar when he was dying!  After I lost my Caesar and I called them to let them know I would not be back my former Vet told me "Caesar was old and was going to die anyway!!!!!"   How heartless!!!!!!!

That is so distressing and sad what that vet had said about Caesar Louise..the fact that anyone could say that about any living thing..let alone a so called vet..I will always remember the bad vet when I had to get Eric to see one for his last time...it will haunt me forever..even tears thinking of it now ...Positive now that Judah is in good loving and caring hands....Much Love as always Annie Biba and Drew xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Louise this is a heartbreaking discovery. I am so sad to hear you got this report from Judah's surgeon. Devastating to learn that the tumor was not totally removed by the other Vet. Sounds like your Dr. Lee is very good and will give your Judah the best care he needs.
Sending brave sweet Judah gentle hugs and prayers.

Hugs Sandra & Gradyxoxox

Louise Thank you so much for the update..we hold paws crossed and lots of prayers and positive thoughts..That first vet you were right to get rid of...trying to think on a positive note with Old Eric...he had lymph nodes all up once and long story short I and vet thought cancer but it was scooping silica from sand on a beach...then another time his paw a biopsy sent off and basically ...self mutilation from gnawing a cyst on it...those things caused hair bald loss..on me with me worrying...try not to...and we all at TC will be with you all the way...
Big Hugs and give Judah a Brave boy kissie..Love Annie Biba and Drew xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Annie thank you for all your positive thoughts.  This has been so devastating for me to handle.  Losing Caesar was devastating now I am facing the same with my Judah.  I am sick of sub standard uncaring Veterinary medicine.  I appreciate you and my TC friends so much.  Louise and Judah
