Re: any update on Maddie
Nothing really new to report. She still wants to attack her paws so she has a cone on at the moment. I did email dermatology with an update on 15/9 I wasn't rude but said I was unhappy with having to use Nexgard (it is esentially a posion) on Matilda just in case she does have paw mites. She was kind of pushing for me to try cyclosporin at the last appointment but as Matilda is already on antibiotics twice a day, allergy vaccine every 3 weeks, bathed weekly, Nexgard (1 dose) fluconazole Saturday's and Sunday's I said no. I mentioned that after 12 months of immunotherapy we are almost @ 6 months if there is no improvement I will consider not continuing. I also voiced my concerns on how she can she be healthy on the outside when she has tummy issues and their answer has always been 'we will deal with her skin first' but it's been 12 months. I have not heard back from them which is a little odd as they are generally very responsive to emails but I guess did not like me questioning their treatment. We do have an appointment on November 18th so that could prove interesting. So that is where it stands at the moment I will never not voice my concerns or question treatment when it comes to her health and well being. I'd like to think they are sincere in wanting to help her I am not prepared to do anything else that I feel would cause her any more stress. I have a feeling we will just end up going back to the vet for ongoing treatment after the 12 month period is over. I'd try cyclosporin thru the vets but as I said to the dermatologist not while she is on all the other medication and treatment as it can be hard on their tummy and I do have experience with it both positive (Kelsi) and negative (Izabella).
