Re: Matilda passed away peacefully this morning.
Matilda passed away peacefully at the vet's this morning the staph infection had spread and as she was antibiotic resistant it was best to lay her to rest. Matilda was an environmental allergy Westie who underwent any possible treatment including immunotherapy. Sadly at age 8, she developed an extremely bad staph infection which we were unable to treat successfully. Please no judgement. Just know I did everything I possibly could spared no expense devoted all my time to her with treatments trying to make her comfortable but sadly due to her skin and pancreas issues it wasn't possible. Dearly loved never to be forgotten. Reunited with Kelsi and Hannah.

Yes, exactly what Sandi said. Those of us here on TC know all the work you put into healing sweet Matilda. She was a brave little girl and I am sure she appreciated how much you loved and cared for her. Run free little Matilda and enjoy the grand TC reunion at the Rainbow Bridge with all your old friends.

Re: Matilda passed away peacefully this morning.
Matilda was a full on environmental allergy Westie a condition made extremely difficult to treat as she also had a pancreas issue which meant giving her medication usually ended badly. As a last ditch effort after trying everything else I took her to the dermatologist she was started on allergy vaccine but things got worse. She developed a staph infection by then she was antibiotic resistant which means that it became impossible to treat. Her poor little paws were black on top, the pads were bright red, her vulva was black and the staph infection was under her arm she then developed another infection in her groin. I thought by stopping her allergy vaccine we might have a chance but the infection was so bad and we had no way of stopping it. So I chose to lay her to rest before she became so sick that she stopped eating altogether. She had already started to lose weight even though I tried feeding her more but of course this only made tummy issues worse. We will miss her greatly she was my best girl and only 8 (July 25). I did not take Izzy along with us today I did however just in case take Matilda's favourite snuggle puppy and favourite monogrammed rug they will be cremated with her.We will miss her dearly. RIP my little angel too sweet for this world.

Oh Diana, my heart is breaking for you. We all know how very much you love your babies and that you've gone above and beyond to find ways to help them with their allergies. Never for one moment should anyone pass judgement on someone who has been as devoted and loving as you have been to your girls. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve your little one. Rest in peace Matilda...run free with your Angel Sisters and all the TC Angels at RB.Love, Deb, Emmie, and Angel Kelsie

Re: Matilda passed away peacefully this morning.
We are so sorry to hear the sad news.
Sometimes it is best to let them go rather than watching them suffer.
Remember the good times and keep her in your heart.

Thank you
Thank you everyone we are still heartbroken as you can imagine. I always thought Matilda would grow old with Izzy never imagined she would be only 8 when she left this world. I've often said she was my 'saving grace' when I lost both Kelsi and Hannah in late 2015 and she truly was. She had the sweetest temperament and so cheeky and playful. She has left a huge hole in our hearts.
