One of Nessie's ears is getting a bit of a build-up. Is there a special solution anybody uses to help remove the yuck?

We use Nolva-Cleanse. We buy it from the vet. It is a blue liquid that you squirt into her ear and just let her shake her head. The gunk works it way out. Good luck!

I've never had a problem. Does her groomer pluck the dead hair out when she goes ? You can buy ear wipes.

Hmmm, maybe that's the problem. I haven't had her groomed in a while!!!
But please don't tell Nessie..I just made her an appointment for July 9!

This is what we use.
Mind you, it is not meant to treat an ear infection. This is a multipurpose cleaner for ears, feet, skin..and may I say, it does work well.
Here goes:
3/4 cup witch hazel
1/4 cup aleo vera gel (from health food store, drinkable form)
couple drops of lavender oil added to mixture.
Mix and store in small jar with tight lid.
Can be stored at room temp. and is very soothing for the ears.
I have also used it as a sore foot reliever from allergies and chewing.
Very reasonable to make price and is every bit as good as those ear cleaning products the vet sells.
Hugs,
Nancy :)

We use Epi-Otic (get from the Vet). Two or three times a week we put 1/2 tsp. in each ear, massage it down in and then wipe with a piece of cotton. Fortunately we have not had any ear problems. Haven't had to pull hair from the Cairns ears but do have to with the Maltese. Pat - Zip & Joey's Mom
